International Day of Multilingualism in June?

by | May 14, 2025 | OLI Events | 0 comments

The actual International Day of Multilingualism is on March 27th. However, since OLI was launched after that date, we’re taking the opportunity to share how we plan to celebrate multilingualism throughout 2025.

Change Begs for Initiative

And we are taking the initiative. Join us on June 5, 2025, for a special Live event marking OLI’s 1-month anniversary and learn how we will honour the International Day of Multilingualism throughout 2025!

We will focus on what we want to achieve with the celebration of the IDM in the long run, and we will share what OLI is about. You will get to know the team and learn how you can get involved, how you can support us, and share your stories about languages and how they’ve had an impact on your life.

Taking Part is Easy

It’s as easy as opening a browser window and joining us for a Google Meet event at olangi.org/idm2025 on June 5, 2025, at 16:00 Central European Time. Or save the event to your calendar via LinkedIn here.

About the Event

As we celebrate our 1-month anniversary, we invite you to explore the work of the Open Language Initiative (OLI) and its impact on global communication.

During this event, we’ll take you behind the scenes at OLI, sharing:

  • Our core mission to connect people and communities through language.
  • The innovative approach of our certification scheme and how it promotes multilingualism (and also how we measure up to our own certification scheme).
  • Stories of the passionate individuals who drive OLI’s initiatives.

But that’s not all! We’ll also discuss:

  • Why is the International Day of Multilingualism so crucial for fostering understanding and breaking down barriers?
  • How OLI collaborates with dedicated volunteers to empower organisations worldwide, creating tangible, positive change.
  • Unique ways you can get involved and support our vision of a world united beyond borders.

This event is your opportunity to:

  • Join a global conversation about the importance of multilingualism.
  • Gain exclusive insights into OLI’s work and its impact.
  • Discover how you can contribute to building a more connected and inclusive world.

We’re excited to connect with you and share our passion for language!
